A guy drives down the road in a stolen car, no insurance (obviously) and gets nicked.
Do they put him away and even try to get thru to him, to try and make him understand and change his ways?
Like hell they do.
They simply "fine" him....charge him costs and send him on his way.
This dosnt sit right with me, as i always thought that the whole idea of prosecuting someone was to make them understand the error of what theyve done, and to forever change their attitudes to breaking the law.
Seems that as with other things in this country,the speed camera issue for example, its all gone to dipping into peoples pockets, rather than address the real problem, ie; their attutudes to the law.
I suppose its easier for them to take 60 quid from the "perp" rather than rehabilitate him, but that simply dosnt do anything to change his ways.
