Is Wycombe the centre of the universe?
Discussion
No, of course it's not. It's a semi-grotty Bucks town with good shopping and transport links, where Corsa driving muppets tend to hang out.
But it is also home to a bizarrely large number of PHers, and Ted has just moved closer...
For anyone interested, a meet has been arranged here:

I know some of you don't check Events and Meetings, so thought I'd mention it.
And before any non-Wycombite starts to slag off 'the Jewel of the Chilterns', please remember we are home to RAF Strike Command and I go to the pub with the guy who is in charge of the red button

errrr, thinks back, moved away in 1990, so our paths might have crossed! Small world, eh?
Oh, and Wycombe is a bunghole, however you look at it.

Knowing Wycombe well, I think you should apologise immediately to the nearest big hole full of shit for making such a derogatory comment.

Used to live in Thame (lovely) and worked in High Wycombe for a few years. Also grew up in Basingstoke and couldn't decide which was the bigger sh*thole. Having said that the George & Dragon in West Wycombe does the best pub grub I've ever had. (Or did - haven't been for 5 years).
Re previous post I once saw a lorry with a sticker on the back saying "Happiness is Slough in my rear view mirror".

A little flat in Hazelrig Drive off Wellington St. (The first place I bought - it was quite a long time ago). I also lived in Chinnor and Bicester for a while.
Is Smeds of Welly still going?
I'm down near southern road. Unfortunately/Fortunately Smeds is now an Indian Takeaway! The newsagents on Queens Road is closed now aswell - ah the price of progress.
Actually its changed loads on te whole but is still a v.nice place to live.
