Gardening - Anybody here enjoy it?

I'm afraid I can not stand gardening, I've just been outside for about half an hour to attempt to tidy up my borders but I really can not be titted. Its been crying out for some TLC (the garden that is) since about November, I have really tried to go out there this afternoon and give it a go, but at the moment it just doesn't interest me. Do you think when I reach my forties/fifties I will suddenly become green fingered because at the moment I cannot see it ever happening. Whats the going rate for a gardener??? 
I get my mother to do mine at the weekend, just stand about handing plant type thing to her every now and again make interesting comments on the various flower type things and let her get on with it. trips to the garden centre are not recomended under any circumstances, paying for things that can be dug up wrenched from the roadside is a waste of money, fortunately she often pays for this as well!
I am early thirty's and find that an afternoon on the garden, relieves the stresses of the previous working week. Only during late spring/summer months though, as March is far to cold. It gets me outside, and gives me a sense on achievement when I enjoy a Sunday tea on the patio.
This will probably change with the arrival of the Porsche in 2 weeks time
I will then be either polishing it/enjoying it. Its a good job I spent all last summer converting it to "low maintenance", as we have about 1/4 acre as our back garden.

I actually went to the bother of putting up a what do you call it wooden structure plant growing over it paving slabs terrace thing?, anyway need to install one of those nice wooden garages there now, well nobody actually sits out in it, so why bother, flippin waste of time and effort for nothing Pah..
- better things to do with my precious time.
Must be thick, I don't get that up hill thing.
Anyway been gardening since 1979 when I bought my first flat. Thoroughly enjoyed it although it was most time consuming, especially when I bought the latest house new in 1994. Just a sea of soil. Built walls/terraces/raised bits/pond/etc. Loved the relaxation it gave me at the weekends (& in evenings). Never in the house when it was fair weather. Often wonder if the ex wife left me cos of the cars or the garden. Only came in for meals. Now at the age of 49 I'm getting sick of it, found other things to do. It's sort of here we go again around the beds/that bl***dy grass needs cutting again. Looking for a hous e with a smaller garden although I suppose I could undo some of my handiwork and turn it to low maintenance. Just a shame to spoil a pretty area that attracts the birds etc.
