Road fund Licence by direct debit
Discussion
I am just about to go and buy my monthly car tax stamps from the post office and will probably have to wait ages to get served. I was thinking why not allow people to pay by direct debit like say a TV licence. You pay a set amount each month and once a year they send you a new licence.
Any ideas why this would not work

You have to admire the good old Post Office logic, don't you. They offer cheque cashing, foreign exchange, high value postage and yet they STILL won't take a card!
And they wonder why Consignia were pissing money away like it's going out of fashion?

Ahh, but they will very soon. About time too, although they resent paying the card charges, it's about time
