just received an old Philips 'On' digital box, is there anyway I can receive digital TV through it, with a new card or something, or is it just a pile of junk to throw straight in the bin ?

You should throw away the old card (that removes the pin number protection), plug it all in and tell it to save channels. It will then take about 20 minutes and hopefully find 30 or so TV and another few radio channels.
If it does not work then the chances are that you need to upgrade your aerial.

I have the same box and it is ok (if very slow).

Good luck

Glad it worked, you sure you got 85? Are they all populated with channels?

It said 85 channels found after the 20 min scan, flicked through the first 20 or so but not all of them, had to do it manually on the front panel as the remote got left behind (it should arrive at the end of the week)
