Gumball Rally (Ruby Wax) on BBc 1 (again) now
Discussion
Nice one. Thanks for that - I missed it the first time round and have been wanting to see it ever since.
(Edited to clarify that the above wasn't sarcastic - I saw your post a couple of minutes after you posted it so was able to watch the whole programme near enough)

Shame they didn't bury this after the first showing. Further fanning the flames of this any-speed-intolerant society is all we need. The excesses of the nouveau-riche were disgusting to watch and the BBC should probably have been sued for inciting reckless driving through their camera presence and Ruby Wax should just be exterminated.

So I'm guessing you didn't like it then
deffo agree with the point on fanning the anti-speeding campaign and there was something sickening about the way some of the people acted (although obviously it makes far better TV to follow those then the people who didn't drive recklessly)

Ah hem! I was on that run! Same as fellow pistonheader IanW who is organising a European version later on this year.
Never quoted myself before! I should have made it clearer, sorry! By version I meant the cannonball.

Too much $$$$, too little sense.
What about that white 355 that cleared a fence after crashing at 140mph.
I'm sorry, but you dont just get a few cuts and grazes from flipping a car at 140mph.
I happen to know the bloke who crashed the ferrari and yes he was quite easily doing 140mph!!!! Normally yes you don't walk away from crashes like that but some people are very lucky!!, I would count him as one of them!!!!!

He was a l00ney!!!
That is one helluva reason for not buying a convertible unless it has a rollover bar!!!
Thought the program was shite though , it started bad by having ruby wax on it, damon hill did himself no favours at all either and it confirmed that there are far too many pricks in this world with more money than driving ability...
I would really have pi55ed off to be the recipient of that crash at the end of the program too.... I know its a big assumption but the guy in the gumball i am assuming was driving like a tosser and the other was the innocent party....
hmmm, wonder what gave me that idea...
I know it can't have been all that bad, and that TV is often one-sided but that did us lot no favours at all. Hope the Cannonball is better....

Fat bloke with the Merc is Kim Schmitz aka Kimble, general fat bigheaded tw@. www.kimble.org/gumball3000/
Nice one; I've just been looking for that URL in order to post it here!

The crashed Merc was his support vehicle, apparantly.
I've heard a rumour that Schmitz isn't even a fraction as wealthy as he appears and that most of his money is borrowed. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this, or has it just been perpetrated by people who think he's a bit of a w*nker?
