Hi guys - I'm looking for a good rolling road in the Midlands - unfortunately not for my TVR (now sold) but tuned up MX5's - turboed and supercharged ones - don't take the p**s some have 270bhp - so somewhere with high tech knowledge would be nice.

Have been to Hi Tech / Aldon before - would like to try somewhere else - anyone got a reccomendation ?

Thanks

Mark

Well I got this 'in the post' this morning..........

I have been contacted by a company in Cambridge who operates a rolling road to check BHP etc. £15 for 15 min called a Power Run or £60 for an hour called a Full Tuning Session. Any one interested is asked to contact the company direct;
Cambridge Motor Sport. Tele 01767 677969
www.cambridgemotorsport.com
email jane.bourne@cambridgemotorsport.com

It was part of our TVRCC newsletter, so don't know if it was a special 'TVR' offer but worth a try

www.stealthracing.co.uk have one in Southam, but they are a VAG specialist so may not be any use. AMD in Biscester ditto.

I just took a look at the Cambridge Motorsport website and found what appear to be the wheel nuts that I've been searching for for ages.

They are going to send me one FOC in good faith to try out, so based on may experience, they sound like an excellent bunch of guys and I'm sure this carries over to the rolling road services.

Thanks guys but what I was hoping for was a good place you could recommend.

Stealth rebuilt my 190bhp golf - it blew up due to their mistake - when I went back they'd gone bump and re started - same place - same blokes - didn't want to know !

I've heard that Colin Blower is good and that there's a good place in Northhampton and near Silverstone - anyone ?

I've used Colin Blower for TVR servicing and Mervin knows his stuff, never had any rolling road work with them though
www.colinblower.co.uk/
Their rolling road is rated to 300bhp (I think)

John Noble's in Chesterfield is your place .. did the development on the Noble M12 turbo engine (built in-house at JN's place ) so are well clued up on forced induction motors.
John himself has taken semi-retirement and the place is now run by business partner Peter Dibble .. tell him Joolz at Joospeed sent you ..

Sorry Reg - I know Aldon is in the Midlands - have been there before - I have made good money from buying cars off people who had them set up there and wouldn't run right - I'd get them set up elsewhere and sell on at a good profit - so at least one guy there REALLY DOESN'T know what he's doing.
