Redbull Best Rngine?
Discussion
It does amuse me that they've had to create a whole new category for how rubbish the Honda is.
I'm not particularly surprised by the results overall. It's pretty clear that Mercedes' advantage isn't really down to peak power, or teams like Mclaren and Williams would be right up there too. The Mercedes engine is obviously pretty good, but overall Mercedes are just doing the best job of understanding and using what they've got.

Clearly this points to a bright future for the rest of the year and next. When Mercedes seem to be able to pull a second a lap on the Ferrari cars and even more on the Red Bulls, I would suggest that giving them even more development scope to improve their clearly struggling car isn't going to help make for competitive racing.
Still, the teams did vote for this so the fans will have to live with it. Toto always talks about how much he loves playing fair, as long as everything is falling in his favour, of course.

Zero development and upgrades on the ADUO score.
Mercedes 2nd place with development hours and budget available.
Crikey.

If the engine is that good, the chassis must be pretty bad....
But, AIUI, this is related to the engine and not the PU as a whole. So their deployment may be rubbish.

Even as a Red Bull fan I would say that the time to complain about/change the rules is before the impact is known. Still, the teams did vote for this so the fans will have to live with it. Not saying you're suggesting that, but I know elsewhere people will be thinking it.
Said elsewhere this is potentially a great play by Mercedes.
If with the fuel flow allowed rbr have made 500bhp and merc are 2 to 4 per cent down that’s 10-20hp. The red bull is a not a rocket which either says their battery and motors are an issue or the merc side is vastly better.
The electrical side can only recover energy the ice has generated so to have a real world advantage based on electrical superiority and lower recovery limit from a weaker ice would be some going.

From what I read, it's just the ICE component that gets rated - and yes, this was a decision by the teams.
Madness with a roughly 50/50 ICE/electric split. All this will do is make the best car go even faster.New rules agreed for 2027 and 2028, as Ferrari and Audi pushed back on the changes in one step
2027 will be 58/42 and 2028 60/40
So stand by for Red Bull to dominate next year if they do have the best ICE engine

Off the back of this, as ADUO does not stack/change in the following 5/6 race checkup periods, what happens If Merc(or any other supplier) introduce an improved engine in q3 of this 2026 that puts them top of the list by 2% over Ford/RB, would this mean Ford/RB then get an improvement opportunity for this season and 2027 and merc lose their opportunity for next season? or do Merc keep their improvement for next season and the cash that goes with it?
