I'm looking to see if there is one particular app that stands out from the crowd.

Between two cars, and five motorcycles, there is a lot of dates needing memorised for MOT's, servicing schedules, Insurance renewals. If I had all of that documented in an App with notifications to alert me to an upcoming event it would help a lot. I know I could just use google calendar, however I'm guessing these Apps are a bit neater for such purposes, and it would just be a case of filling in some fields.

I use vehicle smart. I only use it for mot/ tax but I think you can do more than that but you might need to pay for those extra features.

I use Vehicle Smart and also Road Trip, to record expenses, fuel fill ups etc. I've had it for years (since it was free) but I gather you have to pay for it now.

I use Road Trip for recording fill ups, expenses etc as well.

For remembering tax, MoT, insurance, you can record it in autotrader if you create a log in and add the dates. Sends an email when stuff is coming due.

“Know your car” app.

Have all the family vehicles on there.

It even gives you an update the second an MOT finishes.

The garage is often surprised that you hear before they do.

Its 7 vehicles not a fleet. Half an hour on google calander would sort this as you have already answered yourself.
Also why not sync up your various cars schedules so you only have to sort stuff out at certain times of year?

Many years ago worked with a bloke (called Adrian) who sorted me out a licence to his app 'My Garage' which allowed fantastic, granular approaches to multiple cars without forcing you to do the rubbish (that you could do) like MPG logging.

Sadly a different job and eventually a new PC ended that journey, but I can highly recommend it.

I'm not even old (I hope - late 20s!) but I find the 'app' culture so baffling. Why have another app to simply replicate functions of a calendar? It feels like such a waste to me.

But then I also dislike 'app' banks and the like. So perhaps I'm just ancient.

The bikes change so often its a pain trying to get dates to line up, although I sorn some over winter, so those MOT's tend to bunch up around spring. They also get far more DIY maintenance than the cars, so being able to detail what happened and when would be nice.

I thought an app would be more useful at presenting the history of what I have done too. Being able to pick a vehicle, and the work history and future dates then get presented in some nice form.

Thanks everyone. I'll give Vehicle Smart a go.

Which is great for you as you have one car.

It can get challenging when you get to 2, 3 or above.

Any reason not to use whatever electronic calendar one uses for everything else. I have all my vehicles' services / MOTs etc in Outloook.

I have a wall planner in my office.

It has all the important things, MOTs, Tax, Insurance, Servicing.

Also has less important things like the other halves' birthday.

Thread revival, had to get rid of Vehicle Smart as they started charging. Moved to Know Your Car which seems to be much better, and free.
