Hi all
this is certainly not an anti motorbike post.
I'm a cyclist occasionally and appreciate the risks and dangers of 2 wheels.

Bur recently I've noticed the same motorbike on the clockwise M25 in the morning rush hour
The first encounter was in the usual 10mph 4 lane crawl for all traffic. I'm driving a very large LWB van taking up most of the lane
I'm next to a HGV so space is limited for filtering and this guy comes filtering on my right gives a shout and shoulder barges my drivers wing mirror.

I appreciate any bike can filter when safe but intentionally trying to damage any vehicle whilst filtering is not in my opinion a great idea.
all 4 lanes were crawling the same speed and most drivers attentions are focused ahead with the odd glimpse behind.

I only posted because I saw the same guy a week later waving his arms constantly in some sort of anti car rage because he had to slow to filter to another group of vehicles.
for any motor bike to try to barge a wing mirror to cause damage on a motorway is not how to get drivers on your side.
by all means filter but not all vehicles are Fiat500 sized and you may have to wait a second.

My first encounter of motor bike anger..just hope he's the minority

I came across an angry car driver once - but I've learned they aren't all angry.

Maybe he was angry because you came across him.
Discussing unusual proclivities before doing them is part of consent.

I’d be quite angry if you came across me. Come on!

So long as you don't get it on the paint - it might etch the clearcoat.

Unless it was also your first time driving a vehicle on the road you already know his behaviour is not the norm.

Motorcyclist sounds like a weapons grade throbber. Just because two wide vehicles happen to be next to each other.

I believe the technical term for this type of motorcyclist is 'donor'.

Being a biker and having to filter over the years it's not something I've ever done or would do. You're at your most vulnerable trying to ride slowly and navigate between moving objects that could at any minute close the door on you as they haven't seen you. If anything even though I would still be over taking other vehicles I'm moving slowly and trying to find the gaps and not rush things, it isn't something I enjoy.

I would say it isn't a trend, it sounds like someone who thinks because he is on a bike and can filter has the god given right to make progress while you sit in your box going nowhere. I wouldn't let it get to you as unfortunately with this kind of attitude there's only one outcome for said rider at some point in the future, you're just able to predict his demise.

I once clipped a mirror when filtering and then with confidence a bit knocked and traffic lanes narrowing I ended up stuck in front of him for what seemed like forever getting a loud bksing. I take no chances now, needs to be a good margin for error for me for filtering.

I guarantee you that unless he's utterly inept he wasn't trying to damage your mirror.
