600Nm of torque being channelled to Linglong Grip Masters.

Can anything top these?

I'd be gutted spending that sort of money for one of those, and seeing those tyres on it for sure. Why do it?

That'll take some beating I'd imagine.

Oof! Thats going to be hard to beat.

The thing is that I bet the selling dealer stuck those on, and I suspect a good number of potential buyers will ask for those to be changed.

Why do this?

Save a few quid in prep costs. I suspect they would get away with it on a white goods car, but like you say most people buying this sort of car know what they are looking at.

It is all levels of wrong fitting this sort of tyre, if I was a car dealer I just couldn't do it.

I never understand why people who are purportedly car enthusiasts use st tyres, supermarket fuel, and adhere to ridiculous manufacturer extended service schedules. You aren't enthusiasts, you're cheapskates who shouldn't ever be allowed near a desirable car.

I have seen a 2021 M5 with every wheel sporting similar dig finders (all different on all four wheels) supplied by a rental company to a 25 year old female colleague. One was deflating, when she asked me to help re-inflated the tyre!

There was a post going around FB not so long back of a Rolls Royce Cullinan being detailed and it was wearing Ling Longs on a set of aftermarket wheels.

So 850 nm of torque.

I'll see if I can find evidence
.

Whats up with supermarket fuel?

Agree on the tyres though.

I do remember seeing a photograph of a McLaren F1 with some shocking Nankang or Linglong 'parking tyres' on it. The explanation being that because the tyres are a rare size, cheap brands were chosen to sit and go square when the car was in long-term storage. The car was perhaps light blue or sage green, it may even have been pictured on here.

Maybe not the "worst" but certainly something thats shows a disconnect between the people who made the car and those who spec the tyres which makes me think "thats the worst decision I've seen made" - my work colleague has a brand new Volvo EX30 EV car, and yet for a 2 ton car with 450hp, Volvo decided to fit it with low rolling resistance "eco" tyres which wouldn't grip very well on a "normal" 2 ton car if its driven sportingly, and so have absolutely no chance on a car with same power levels as a mid 00's Porsche 911 Turbo!!!!

Why Volvo, why?

I was having a chat with a salesman specialising in higher end cars a couple of days ago who suggested that Mustang owners were by the far the most likely to skimp on tyres.

I know they're something of a joke, but according to TyreReviews (who do some pretty in-depth tests), Linglong are starting to produce some fairly decent tyres these days.

No idea what the supermarket fuels thing is about - I’ve used nothing else (unless no supermarket around ) for 40 years. It’s no different - and that’s in stuff like my bike which is 1000bhp/tonne.

Kidology.

The second half of this weeks EVO podcast was about this very subject.

Usually I find it quite bland but this one was not too bad.

Supermarket fuel is crap frankly. I have to do my research about this stuff, due to the regular extended layups ( up to 3 years ) my cars have to endure. Shell 99 is unequivocally the best in terms of retaining it's RON rating over an extended period of time. It's a cleaner burn, it gives better fuel economy, and for cars that have known problems after long periods of not being started, it's a blessing.

If the dealer takes it in part ex needing new tyres why would he spend an extra £500+ in better tyres it’s just eating into his profit. Enthusiast people will notice but most general public will just look at tread depth.

So the five remaining fuel refineries in the UK make crap fuel especially for supermarkets?

I know this has been done a million times.....

Red flag. Surely most people would walk off.

I've been using T99 for 15 years or so, not noticed anything untoward.

Very in keeping with those who ‘do their own research’, ending up with absolutely bks opinions.
