Is it just me, or have drivers of MG SUVs (particularly that MGZS thing) replaced Volvo drivers as the ones to steer well clear of because they haven't got a clue what they're doing?

I'm certainly starting to see a pattern.

Just like Tesla drivers seem to have replaced BMW drivers as being assholes...

Can't say i've noticed a particular trend with Volvo or MG drivers and I'm a BMW driver so I'm supposed to hate everyone apparently

Nah, everyone's supposed to hate you! wink

Maybe it's just round this way. But I do find myself staying clear of MG drivers - particularly in car parks.

I think the "volvo driver" is a bit outdated now, but I think we all get where you are coming from... as to the drivers of new MG's good god yes, you should always expect the un-expected from them.

MG ZS and Hyundai Tuscon are driven in a bizarre fashion just like Volvo’s did a long time ago.

Old dirty Audi’s with window adornments still among the most dangerous.

Good luck with that - by the end of the year 1 in 20 of all cars in the UK will be EV, so you're going to have to get used to it!

They are certainly the new breed of Nissan Leaf stylee " my car is the greatest car I have ever owned" ( probably after their Hillman Minx)

I had an MG ZS as a holiday hire car. Absolutely gutless 1.5 litre petrol thing. Most intrusive, annoying ADAS systems I've come across.

It's possible that the owners are trying to end it all.

It's Tesla for me. I've seen enough bad examples from Tesla drivers for the brand to stand out.

I think Tesla and perhaps MG has gone that way a bit, have become the go to EV as a nice sensible choice. I'm not sure 350bhp+ under the foot of some of those drivers is a great idea.

There used to be a Volvo thing, back when their USP was that you probably wouldn't die when you crashed it, and they were the car for people who didn't really like cars and wanted the world to know that. Most likely thing to impede your progress on a country road. If you wanted the safety and rationality without the boredom, you bought a Saab. Not many people did. That was a long time ago, before Volvo decided they wanted to attract thrusting sorts from the German brands, there's no distinction now.

WTF this is not a thing Volvo drivers are awesome. And no we haven’t all changed to MG’s we will be in our Volvos for hundreds of thousands on miles yet.

I’ve just steered my brother into getting an MG…..

This is a man who didn’t service his X5 for three years and then wondered why the oil lines blocked and the engine shat itself.

All cars chosen by people with zero interest in motoring end up being driven badly. That being said, MGs weren’t on my radar for crap driving - that’s usually ratty old Toyotas around us.

They are the new Peugeot drivers, in former Top Gear parlance, where the owners simply want an A to B appliance and care little for anything else.

Yeah when I drive our Volvo I don’t have a clue what I’m doing but when I drive my BMW I become an asshole rolleyeslaugh

I actually think Volvos tend to be fairly attentively driven, as they’re usually bought by people with kids who prioritise safety, so look where they are going and actually pay attention.
