Oblivious driving on the M42 this morning.
Discussion
I was driving in heavy traffic this morning on the m42 and noticed an unmarked police car with blue lights and wig wags a few cars back in lane 3.
I moved over to lane 2, as did some other cars, but the van behind me continued on, oblivious to the presence of the car behind him for a couple of miles. When I left the motorway 10 miles later, the police car had only progressed another dozen cars further forward, still with lights flashing.
I was surprised that sirens were not used, and they would have been if he were really in a hurry, but what is wrong with drivers these days being so unobservant?

Really, you are surprised?
How many morons sit in the outside lane and never check their rear view mirror? How many morons do you see in the dry with their rear wiper on? Clear indication they never, ever, look behind them.
Standard of driving is shocking with nearly zero regard for other road users

It"s doubtful whether the oblivious driver would have noticed the sirens either. A traffic cop on a bikesafe course referred to 'pinball wizards'. Can't see no lights flashing, can't hear no buzzers and bells.I moved over to lane 2, as did some other cars, but the van behind me continued on, oblivious to the presence of the car behind him for a couple of miles. Yep.
As a van user , I am shocked at how many drivers come past in the outside lane at 80 plus, phone in hand and actually looking down at it and typing .
On the M42 in the roadworks sections they now have cameras that look down on the drivers lap to see if they are using their phones. Anyone caught will get a postal notice and a fine.As a van user , I am shocked at how many drivers come past in the outside lane at 80 plus, phone in hand and actually looking down at it and typing .
