Where do you get yours done?

1) Main Dealer?
2) Fast Fit Centre?
3) Independent Local Garage?
4) Local Council Depot?
5) Elsewhere?

3.

They're also the garage i use to maintain my vehicles. A rare example of a knowledgeable and honest garage, hence my 20ish years of custom, plus 99% of my families.

Independent for me, although my last service (brake fluid) on the M4 lined up with it's MOT so it was done at the main dealer at the same time. But it's been MOT's locally in the past as I can walk there in 5 minutes.

I had two cars MOT'd today at different places. Both independents and trusted far more than the original main dealer.

Wouldn't that be (6)?

My local MOT Centre does nothing but MOTs. No repairs, no servicing, just MOT tests.

Are they sympathetic to the older vehicle ? I take the Mazda to Clevedon Garages and the Landie to a place in Nailsea, but always on the lookout for a decent MoT place.

For those that have posted so far, why would you trust any other MOT centre/garage more than a council run one who are not in it for pure profit or repair jobs???

And it's so cheap isn't it? To get a qualified professional to thoroughly inspect your car for safety, at just (seems ludicrous) £54???

I have had my last 2 MOTs done on my Ford at a Main Dealer (Nissan) but I do work there so get staff rates for servicing and MOTs.

A mot only place. I don’t trust any garage due to the conflict of interest and the horror stories heard and experienced.

Been to a council one. Not as convenient as a mot only place so they get my business.

Ditto. I will only use Council Sites these days but I would consider a local garage if I knew the area and trusted the owner.
