HPI check shows 3 plate changes on a car

hi guys,

Any car buying experts around?

I HPId a car I'm looking at, and it looks like the number plate has changed with each previous owner (3 owners). Is this wierd?

Also, the plate it is currently on does not come up as the latest plate on HPI.

Car is a 3.0 Z3.

Latest change not showing would give me pause for concern, but the fact that it's had several changes doesn't seem like a huge biggie as it's probably a case of each owner putting a private plate on it which isn't a real shocker on a Z3

Usually owners retaining thier private plate. Re current reg, what does the DVLA say about it (online tax check)

Registration changes are completely irrelevant to a car buyer. All you need to do is make sure the VIN plate on the car hasn't been tampered with and that it matches the V5. You could check the engine number as well if you're feeling keen and know where to look.

The car check company I used when I bought the Astra also flagged up a plate change. I called them up with the ref no of my check and they were able to give a bit more information and told me that it was just people a private plate which had been put on it.

no issues, people tend to keep their reg these days

when was the last reg change carried out?
