In the morning I bring my car to the top of my drive and I have noticed ehaust fumes pour out from under the car around the drivers door. It only happens when I move it in the morning (running time approx 2mins). All other times it's fine. The car is a 2006 730D. Is there some sort of dump valve in the exhaust? There are definately no rust holes etc in it. Serviced and MoT last week aswell. Seems strange.

Defo. Exhaust fumes? No chance it is a vent from the aircon ?

+2

Fuel fired heater - has it's own little exhaust pipe, normally exits somewhere around the bottom of the bulkhead. You can get exhaust pipe extensions for most, so may be worth looking into that

Can't see anything in the book that says there is a separate heater but it does talk about aux heat not convinced though

My diesel X5 has a webaso aux heater under the bonnet, the exhaust for it comes out behind the nearside front wheel. This works in cold temps to heat up the coolant faster.
All of the X5s have them and I'd be surprised if the 7 series doesn't.

Have a look under the bonnet, it's a silver box about 100mm wide by 100mm tall and 200mm long with Webaso on the top.
