Car for £5k almost no restrictions
Discussion
Hello guys
Im looking for ideas really ive got £5k to spend on a car.
Only restriction is that i need to be able to get a bmx in somehow so 2 seaters are out but anything else is fair game.
Im replacing an MR2 and a mercedes vito van. I only really need 2 seats but i do need room for bmx occasionaly.
Other than that no restrictions at all but manual is preffered
Im currently thinking 330 coupe e46 like this

Possibly an alfa 166

Early s4?

Jag XK?

Sierra cosworth?

Id like any of these to be honest! the 330 and the xk are very tempting
anymore ideas?

Out of those I would choose the sierra.
How about this for a wild card;

For 5k I'd be looking at an Alfetta GTV6 or a Lotus Excel.*
In both cases carrying a bike around in the boot may prove wise.

- That's a bit of a lie. If I had 5k to spend on a car but it had to replace my daily snotter it would need to be practical and I'd probably be looking at an Aygo or something...

Range rover i like!
The opels cool but maybe a little too old for my tastes.
Those XK's are cheap arent they but i do worry about a cheap older jag with possible repairs etc
The Jag needn't be too expensive to run. Just check the timing chains have been done and, if not, knock some cash off the price. That one is on 17s so should have the standard suspension - cheaper to fix.The opels cool but maybe a little too old for my tastes.

A Sierra Cosworth would be an awesome choice, but given the age and the pedigree of the car it's not something you can really buy into expecting cheap, carefree ownership. They'll need careful and loving maintainence, and you'll be crucified if you let one go to waste!
Agreed and to be honest loving maintenance is usually reserved for my motorbike! Id love a cosworth but cant see me doing it this time round.
I did think about an e36 328 but i really dont like the interiors in them...pity as i could save some cash!
