I went to see a car yesterday, I liked it and I want to buy it, I've agreed a price and paid a 500 quid deposit. Its from a dealer.

But, when I got back from the test drive I had a very careful listen to the motor, there was a noise from the top end, like a knackered cam lobe or a lazy lifter, a slow clack clack clack.

I would not expect to hear anything like that on a 99 V8 Merc engine.

At the time I thought it was ok, but I've been stewing all night and concluded that I should get it to an Indy or main agent to get a second opinion.

I defo want the car, I really want the car, even if there is something wrong I want it, but not at the prcie agreed.

If there's nothing wrong then I'm all happy.

I had better call the dealer, have a chat.
