Hi I've removed many stickers over the years but these ones have refused to budge.

They are on a Jap import and have cracked in the sun and have the appearance of cracked varnish.

I have tried:

Boiling water
Hair drier
Cellulose Thinners
Glue Remover
Razor blade
Polishing mop

None of the chemicals worked.
The hair drier enabled me to remove the coloured vinyl but not the hard dried on edging.
The mop has just polished the residue.

I also need to remove "bodytape" where it had side skirts fitted.

Autoglym tar and adhesive remover works great, apply and leave for a few minutes and it literally peels off.

I had an issue on a previous car where I had removed the b pillar vinyl and thought it was never going to come off, despite extended heat, lots of wd40 etc.

But picked up the auotglym stuff and it worked a treat.

Worth trying meths or acetone (nail varnish remover) this has worked for me in the past softens up the glue residue nicely

I usually pour slow stream of almost boiling water on as I peel stickers off. If the glue stays behind, pour more hot water on to soften then rub a cloth with tar remover or thinners, the glue will come off with some repeated use of the cloth. Older stickers take ages.

worst one I've had to do was this evo tme RS;

Try (in ascending order of likely to damage the paint if you overdo it):

White Spirit - use plenty on a paper towel (dripping wet..

Methylated Spirit - use plenty on a paper towel, but not dripping wet.

Acetone (nail varnish remover) - use a good amount on a paper towel - don't use it dripping wet until you've seen if it's taking the paint off on the paper towel...

In all cases warming the panel first with a hot air gun will make it work better.
