Just got my renewal quote from admiral on my multi-car policy and it’s just punched through the 4 figure barrier, a good healthy rise of a few hundred quid. Time for a little shop around…….

Who else does these kinds of policies? Somebody suggested LV but they apparently don’t insure “high performance” cars.

Any other recommendations?

Thanks

I've just ditched Admiral for the same reason. Halved the premium by just hitting the comparison sites.

Which sites did you use, as I've not had much luck so far?

I get about the same total insuring my cars separately through the likes of money supermarket but I really need a single insurer to give me a discount for the multiple business.

Is there either a multicar comparison web site or can anyone recommend some good brokers or providers of multicar insurance.

Thanks

What kind of new purchases prices are the cars? If they were (or most of them were) over 40k, then you should try his cox or chubb. Great prices, amazing cover (driving other cars is fully comp). We sell his cox, they have strict acceptance criteria, but they ar bloody good policies.

Money Supermarket and the Compare the Market. Won't use Go Compare for obvious reasons.

Heritage Insurance do a family policy, myself and other half have 4 vehicles on one of their policies and saved approx £400 on seperate policies.

That's strange, I've just gone with admiral because they've halved one car and added my Boxster for £299. They're even doing classic cars from now!

As ever, it seems there's no rhyme or reason to insurance quotes, but I've just left Admiral after years of custom. I was quoted £950 fully comp' for the car I just bought - I ended up getting better cover for £450 elsewhere.

And my last Multicar with them shot up after the first year, too.

These deals are usually good for the first year to get your custom and hope you can't be arsed to shop around for in subsequent years to recoup their profit.

If you're happy with Admiral, get quotes from Admiral or Elephant (same thing) through price comparison sites for the cars individually, then phone them up and ask them to reduce the multi-car quote to the sum of the individual quotes -5% or so for the 'bulk discount' that multi-car should include.

It works for me, in fact their "new quotes" website isn't clever enough to work out its already sent me a renewal note even if I type in exact name and address.

All insurers try to sting you on renewal but are happy to negotiate ... Multi-car is no different.
