Please show your support to keep the F1 on the BBC by singing the petition and joining the Facebook page! It's a very sad day for the sport but with everyones support we can make a difference! We are after all what makes the sport, without the fans there will be no sponsors! Keep it free to view!!

Harsh, but speeling! Rightly or wrongly, offering Aunty a big bag of cash (along with a suitable payment towards Petra's house) will probably do a damn sight more than a Facebook page.

Im not an F1 fanatic but i have Sky Sports so this wouldnt affect me either way, actually i view it as more value for money on my Sky Sports package but the decisions been made now i think and it wont change. From the sounds of it the BBC will still have delayed coverage/replays of races Sky have live, which seeing as some of them are during the night UK time and alot of people watch later coverage anyway wont make much difference and i would guess the British Grand Prix would be on the BBC anyway.

Every time Sky come calling for something people say it will destroy the sport, alienate fans etc. They said that about football in the early 90s, that there'd be no sponsors without fans etc and all the rest of it, and look what happened there. Its now the richest biggest most ubermassive mega sport on the planet.

FWIW, I don't inherently disagree, but invariably it will resemble the Magpie. The Nuts element will be superior, although I'm sure that the geekiness will be replaced by Jeremy Kyle's greatest hits.
