A fitting tribute: Pic Of The Week

POTW pays respects to a PHer who embodied the petrolhead lifestyle in larger than life style

Yes, a Porsche at the 'ring seems a slightly safe POTW choice. But there's some context here, given that the 911 portrayed is that of PHer Angus Dawe - known to many under his PH forum handle phatgixer - who died suddenly in his sleep aged just 50 earlier this week.

Known to many in the PH community, Angus loved his fast cars and bikes and, equally, loved sharing this passion both online and in person. Angus's presence went far beyond PH too and it's a measure of the size of his personality, and his popularity, that tributes have appeared to him on forums across the motoring community.

So a sombre moment but one his friends wanted us to pay respect to in a style the man himself would have approved of. So here he is, in his GT3 RS, at the 'ring doing what he loved best.

RIP, and condolences to his friends and family from all of us at PistonHeads.

Absolutely, but he lived those 50 years in a way people can only dream of.

Thoughts are with his wife Helen and daughter Poppy & his many, many close friends

Not someone I've ever met, but a name I recognise from the forums. RIP, fellow PH'er.

Sad indeed. A like minded man. I remember him from the M3 forum years ago?

A truly great bloke. A hugely welcoming personality and a depth of knowledge on matters great and small that is now lost forever.

Goodbye Angus - you will be sorely missed.

yes Now if Carlsberg made a 100% proof PH'der, it would be in the spirit of Angus.
