Cannot find this number plate

Want the number plate:

SP01 CER

I cannot find it linked to any car, also cannot find it on DVLA, this means they have never made it or?
Is there anything I could do

There never was an 01 plate.

The new style plates started off with 51 registrations.

SP11 CER was issued

but i can't imagine it would be cheap if you could find who had it and they were willing to sell - see the dodgy plates thread for the number of people "trying" to spell names with cheaper plates.

is it true that if it is SP11 CER then it can only be issued to a car that is a 2011 - 2014 manufactured car

Yes, a plate can't be on a car older than the plate indicates. I have a 2010 plate that can't be on my wife's 2009 car, but I do have a 1973 plate on a 2013 car.

The easy way out and possibly the cheapest, just change your name by deed poll to the number plate you have on your car at present. As per Viz mag..

Which is never going to fly; there is an existing market and lots of people would suddenly find their FAC 214 or whatever plate (that would normally be worth a couple of K) totally worthless.

i'd setup an epetition, but i don't think i could handle the rejection of only getting a couple of hundred or less people to sign it
