Hi everyone,

Now I know I might be exhausting something that may have been asked before but I thought I would try. I am after a private plate for my car and I remember that I saw one up for sale around 10 years ago.

Through online information (MOT checks/Car checks etc.) I am aware that the plate I want is on a Black Audi A4 in or around the Leeds area.

The plate is H18 RVY

Does anybody know of this plate or car or have any links to its owner. If it became available I would be interested in first refusal or would even like to make an offer on it.

In addition, I would be interested in any other plates that are similar (Numbers changed etc.)

Thank you in advance!

Thanks but I specifically want a 'H' plate as it needs to go on a 2003 motor...

H plates came out in 1990, you won't be able to use anything after 03 or 53 depending on what time of year your car was registered.

I cannot say I understand what you mean. I have a 2003 car and want to put a private H plate on it, didn't think there was a problem with that! The suggestions above were all more recent plates which cannot be put on my 2003 car hence why I said I specifically wanted the 'H' plate...

K, I misunderstood, thought you meant you needed a H plate specifically as your car was 2003.
Yep, any ageless plate will be fine afaik.

No problem. Yes what I was getting at was the suggestions from the first reply were unfortunately no good to me so effectively I would like:

H11RVY, H12RVY, H13RVY, H14RVY, H15RVY, H16RVY, H17RVY, H18RVY or H19RVY

Thank you, yes I have managed to get all that information too. Just need someone to spot it on a drive somewhere for me next!!

I understand that form V888 is pointless for this now, following GDPR etc.

I'd be interested to know about this form also. I posted on PH a couple of years back trying to find out if there was a way of tracking a plate down (e.g. via some kind of DVLA intermediary) to make an offer, but never got a solid answer.

Really! Amazing what PH could do to help haha! Be great if someone knew the owner or a more precise location!

Thanks for your help!

I'd recommend the simpler route of changing your name by Deed Poll to CF03WBN wink

Fair enough! Elaborate indeed... however if the whole thread was read I think it would be very clear that wasn't the case. My surname is Harvey, and I also mentioned wanted one of 9 plates!!

(Yes I got mugged by 9 people with private plates all spelling Harvey, oh and that is my name too...We were all attending a 'Harvey' convention laughlaughclap)

Funnily enough I did see that plate listed on an Instagram sell plates page, the advert was asking for c.£8k at the time if I remember correctly.

Let me have a dig around to see if I can find it again.

Mmmmm.... It was £700 last time it was for sale and a private valuation from regtransfers indicated £1,000. I guess it didn't sell if it was up for £8k, you can get an awesome plate for that type of money. hehe
