I'd take a lot of convincing to go anywhere near any supercar hire place myself.

The texts and social media threats are crimes under the Communications Act. Take the evidence straight to the police. If you are lucky they will have a department specifically working on this high-profile area of policing and will be looking for a test-case!

OP - aren’t you a police officer?

Possibly an overreaction but I'd be screenshotting everything and seriously contemplating calling the BiB if the harassment/threats are as bad as you imply.

Oh, and edit out the name before the thread gets blocked for name and shame violations.

( thumbup to mods for light-touch editing rather than thread deletion!)

Christ look at all the 1-star reviews on Trustpilot, looks like he's done this to a LOT of people and reports most bad reviews as "fake". I'd wager a good deal of the 4 and 5 star reviews are made up by him.

Did a 3 day hire with some other outfit back in 2012, had a F355 over the weekend. Great experience, good company, decent people, no quibbles, nothing. £500 thereabouts through a groupon deal, plus mileage surcharge of course driving Also the only weekend that summer where it wasn't pissing down. Car was a bit rough around the edges, but to be expected given age and use, and all mechanically fine. They also insisted on giving me a half day driving assessment before hand, which was probably in fairness better value than the hire itself.

They've been bought out now I think, part of Auto Vivendi maybe. I looked at the club but the entry cost was quite high and the walk up rates even as a club member were eye watering, so I bought a TVR instead.

ClubGT perhaps, acquired by Auto Vivendi.

OP - google the name of the owner and company (which have been removed from your post) and you'll notice they don't take well to negative reviews including getting stuff removed from Google.

You'll also be able to see through Companies House that he was the director of a similar business that didn't last too long and also received some bad reviews.

There are also google results that link to previous PH threads about the company - the threads have been removed so I don't think this one will last long!

They've had some search results removed from Google as well (apparently someone threatened the owner with violence). Some posts in Money Supermarket from someone asking how to take the company to court to get their money back.

Bit late to the party to see who you're talking about but it can only be one of three really.

Are you looking to hire over a weekend? Some companies insist on a 3 day minimum hire over weekends and most are min 24 hours during the week.

Biggest issue with this industry are brokers. They have no cars themselves and almost all of them will profess to 'have the largest fleet in the uk' etc.

Let me know what you're after and i'll see what I can do to help.

For the OP, have a look at the cars offered by the big Hire firms, i.e. Europcar. Might not be the latest and greatest, but there's some lovely metal, and they are very clear on costs and conditions.

The big company beginning with H have a Dream collection, not sure if what you want is included, but at least there should be no messing about.

Just been reading some of the reviews, the unnamed hire company seem dodgy as, and very aggressive in responding to the slightest criticism!!

Google are pretty woeful at policing and dealing with fake positive reviews, you can't really trust google reviews these days, certainly not in terms of taking them at face value.

So what might one have to Google to find said company?

Why not post the screenshots on here with the details removed.

TBH as a Londoner but wouldn't be going anywhere near any supercar hire companies down here; they tend to cater to a pretty specific group of punters who are just as dodgy as they are.

The Hertz dream car rental doesn't seem too bad actually.

Although the security deposit on the 488 is £15000, how many people have a £15k limit on their CC.
