Max power magazine, come on own up!

I see a few pages cropping up reminiscing about the so called good old days,it started in 93 and ended in 2011 according to wiki! So the age range amongst us I would think it would of appealed to a few on here! Did it and share your memories good or bad,and for what it’s worth I was a VW nut and still am so was always into the clean euro look!

I remember it well! In the year or so before being old enough to learn to drive we all switched from buying computer games magazines to Max Power and Revs and whatever else was available. I used to lust after a red 205 gti feature car that had a set of TSW 5 spoke alloys that I can’t remember the name of. 16 year old me went to bed in a sulk when I found out the insurance would be vastly more than I’d ever seen in my lifetime!

I wasn’t a Max Power reader, but it seemed like every second E36 coupe/200SX/Calibra for sale in AutoTrader in the 90s had TSW Stealths on it

Always went in for their build competition too. I wanted the corrado so bad!

I remember one copy came with a free life size wipe clean poster of Jordan.

My mate had a cover car (I think it was anyway)... little purple saxo with 19” wheels (again I think it was a first at the time) and a play station in it.

Rumour was it had spent 30k on it.

Crazy stuff...

I was 22 in 1993 so remember it well. I bought it now and then but even back then I preferred older fords so fast Ford was my favourite publication.

I had the first couple of editions of Revs and the other day found one of their posters of a big red pick up with lots of ladies in the back the other day among all of my 80s bike magazine posters. Perhaps time for a wall in the garage to go back to the 80s...?

Think I started getting max power when I was around 11/12 my mum used to buy me it as I loved cars so around 1995 ish maybe 1996

My brother and I would buy it. I still think there might be some old copies at my parents.
I always wanted a R5GTT or Integrale back then. Few copies used to have Skeete widebody R5 and VanAaken Integrale in them.

I used to like that magazine too. Also went to their show in Birmingham which was really good. Max power babes walking about and even got my picture taken with jo guest who I was into at the time.

I bought Max power, Revs, Fast car, Fast Ford, Practical performance car, Car mechanics, and others every month for years.

It was a depressing moment when I binned them all and thought about how much money I'd wasted.
