London emission charge website
Discussion
I came to London yesterday for a stag do. After a few drinks I figured I need to pay ulez so better do it. I googled it and clicked on the first link
https://londonemissioncharge.co.uk
I've paid through this website £17.50 per day for yesterday and today
I'm pretty sure this isn't a legit site now? Have I been screwed? I actually don't think I need to pay anything anyway!!

Check here to see whether the ULEZ charge was due for your car and how much it is.
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emissio...
The site you used says this:
“We collate and manually check your information for errors and discrepancies before processing your requested vehicle’s TFL application on your behalf.
This is an independent service, not connected to or contracted by any Government Agency.
The amount we charge on the Payment Page includes the prevailing charges being applied by the TFL for their services.“
so obviously and clearly a third party site.
Do you have to pay the congestion charge too? If so pay through TFL’s site.

If you go on the official TFL Congestion Charge page and click Pay to dive in London, it will at least tell you what you needed to pay regarding CC and ULEZ.

Not sure about the site you used, probably all paid up plus and extra few ££'s to that company.

I had the misfortune of traveling from sleepy Suffolk into Muswell Hill on Saturday, knowing I would be entering the ULEZ I thought I'd pre-register with TFL, install the App etc to make it all easy....was it hell! 45mins after trying to do this on their website on an iPhone I gave up and ended up phoning them as I was stuck in an endless loop without the reference number. The call handler was actually really nice and got me sorted so great - except if you want to set up some sort of Auto-Pay account you have to pay £20 pa, and I have no intention of visiting enough to make that worthwhile so I register my card details with the account, both our cars etc thinking this will help later.
Install the App on my phone so I don't need to use the laptop in future, log in..and no details are stored for anything, gah! So try to register my trip, you have to put in the car details, contact details and card details all over again(and it won't enter from saved info from your phone) and then hangs at payment time. So you go back. do it all over again(3x!) and eventually it does a payment and a receipt screen pops up. A couple of days later I check my account to see if it has truly gone through but "no payments" is all it says, grrr. I'm not convinced and then check the website on a laptop again and the only way I can find to check is to re-enter the trip and bingo, "payment has been made for this vehicle".
So after about 2hrs in total, faffing with it all, I am shocked quite how bad TFL, the website and the App are - there must be a million payments a day, they are racking it in and they hold all the cards as if you don't persist you'll simply get a fine in the post a few days later. I hate them, HATE THEM! There is no excuse and if their intent is to keep people from visiting our lovely capital then they are succeeding. Twunts.
