Hi all
Anyone got any tips to make sitting on hot leather seats in the car easier? I use a towel but its not really ideal and only really works on the base, not the back rest.
Those wooden bead seat cover things that were all the rage 40 year ago maybe, if still available.

any other solutions?

Ta.

A towel draped over the seat/steering wheel when parked up.

Yes, if you take the heat off the seat in the first place by stretching a towel over the steering wheel and through the headrest mounts, it takes the heat off which makes sitting more comfortable - prevention vs. cure.

that makes more sense, on first read it seemed like you were suggesting covering the steering wheel only. wouldn't suggest sitting on that in any weather!

Currently in Spain and using one of those foil things you stick to the window. It works well if the sun is in that direction.

Those reflective things you put in a windscreen are quite effective, assuming the sun is coming through your windscreen. Keeps cabin temps down a touch and stops direct sunlight hitting the leather.

Just as an add on, the old fashioned 180 degrees on the steering wheel helps for hot steering wheels too.

I like to use one of those sunblinds for the front screen. Definitely helps shade the interior and will help the seats stay cooler too.

The sunshade will only work if the sun is coming in from the front!

This, among many other reasons, is why leather is crap.

Maybe ask the people on the Convertibles Left Open thread.
Although they will probably say, they’ve never burnt their arse, and anyway that’s what health insurance is for.
