Mainstream Insurers and modifications
Discussion
Leaving aside the specialists, does anyone have any positive/avoid recommendations for getting minor modifications approved by insurers.
Which companies are reasonable, in other words.
And by minor, I am planning nothing which impacts performance/handling/exhaust or exterior cosmetics.
TIA

Admiral increased my premium by a whole £4 when I declared my remap, and years ago when I had my Mondeo ST220 it was a similarly inconsequential amount when I upgraded the exhaust. They've always been good for me. I know they don't cover replacements for modifications in the event of a claim but I can live with that.
I'm with LV. I've just had rock sliders, a fuel tank guard and a diff guard fitted to my Land Rover. The person on the phone was utterly clueless about all of it so liaised with the 'technical team' In the end they classed the mods as a body kit and added £65 to my premium for the year.
An update on this....
LV turned out to be remarkably reasonable, with my mods being accepted with no additional premium.
