Decided to do a big smart home connected solar PV + battery + EV project recently and persuaded my family (wife, daughter 24, son 22) to come and test drive a CUPRA Born last month. We are all petrolheads. My children both drive MX-5s.
My wife was hugely sceptical but, we were all blown away by how good the Born was on our test drive and managed to get a showroom car just 1 week later. My wife ended up being the one really keen to get the car soon. Insurance for all four of us was £330 fully comp + protected NCB.
Having owned the car for about a month, I decided to write a review here:

It's a brilliant car to drive, very comfortable and very easy to drive too. The acceleration is impressive and it's just a nice, fun place to be. So far, we've done over 750 miles using free electricity only and I'm still waiting for the solar panels, battery and smart EV charger to be installed but my plan is to run it for free, doing about 10,000 miles a year.
