I would definitely go for one of the Philips/Osram kits. Most of the £14.99 Chineseum ones seem to fail after a month.
This all the way. Cheap ones look cheap. The more expensive ones look more oem. Although older cars round here just seem to have their headlights and fog lights on all the time instead. FA57REN said:

Turn your headlights on?
The problem with using headlights as DLRs is you have to turn them off to sidelights when entering shadows or when it's dusky, otherwise you'll blind oncoming drivers.Assuming I'm understanding the point you're making, this is just not true. Your headlights are designed specifically to not dazzle other road users.
I was just about to post up a link to the OSRAM DRL FOG kits, which for many vehicles are a direct replacement of circular fog lamps, but house an OEM looking DRL unit and retain Fog lamp functionality and include all the necessary wiring, relays, brackets and cable covers but it would sadly appear that they have discontinued the range. Which is a shame, I wanted to purchase a set!

This makes no sense to me, we have the lights on with the Alfa all the time all year round. It doesn't dazzle anyone.MikeM6 said:

I have never had a car with DRLs and this never happens to me.
I switch my headlights on in the rain / at dusk.
Just on Last Saturday 4 pm a huge tractor pulls out from the road on left , sees us and slams on the brakes so hard that the ub belted passenger hit the windscreen . 40mph limit , I am going 35 . This is 1 mile from home and whilst its a known hot spot ( Check out the skid marks ) The tractor driver just had not seen us .I switch my headlights on in the rain / at dusk.

Which must be why Volvo, with their terrible safety record (
) had headlights that were on permanently for decades (to the point you had to mod them to disable it if you really wanted to save a few bob a year on headlight bulbs...).No idea where this came from, but it's completely wrong.
