Yes, I know designers are hamstrung by regulations and bonnet heights but what cars do you think looked better before?

All views are a matter of opinion. Please respect the views of others and their failing eyesight laugh

I'll start with

The Fiesta Mk VII looked way better than the Mk VIII

The last Hyundai i30N looked better than the new "fan grille" version.

Focus. The mk1 is a masterpiece of design and moved car design on by a million miles.

I still think the original Puma and KA still stand the test of time

Most cars, special mention to all BMWs which have rapidly deteriorated, but so much (in my humble opinion) is now fussy, oversized, slightly awkward or just plain odd.

I may be the only person on earth who doesn't think the Volvo V90 looks amazing. In fact I think lots of its proportions are a bit off and that it's not as nice as the previous V70, which while not the most exciting piece of design ever penned did look just right. I shall now await an amusing reply referencing Specsavers.

Amusing reply number 1. Have you thought about going to specsavers?

Most cars tbh but the one for me is The mk4 golf looks miles better than anything after it.

For me the newest version of most models look absolutely horrific and had much nicer earlier versions. The focus, fiesta, civic, seat ibiza/leon,fabia the list goes on and on.

Also had to Google what a V90 looked like, they're nothing to rave about smile

Its really odd how every generation somehow ends up a bit worse than the last.

I don't care about styling, but the E90 320d was the high point for fuel economy versus performance in the BMW range.
Every successor model is worse than it.

Yeah, BMW seem to be on a downward spiral in terms of car design. I always thought the previous generation 4 series was a handsome, well proportioned car. The new current car looks awful.

Same.

Ditto for the R8. First gen looked better than current gen.

991 generation 911 looks better than the current 992, both front and rear.

Both of you Specsavers, now!

Though to be honest the original concept did look better;

But the final result is no minger....

911's are all bloated now, Caymans following quickly behind. Boxster's still ok.
Mk5 Golf was a nice shape as were the Audi C7's.

Classic Impreza was way better then the bug eye and blob eye that followed. Just about redeemed it with the Hawk eye then st the bed with changing to a hatchback.

Evo 7/8/9 way better than 10

BMW with the current 2 series and M2 in particular.

Suzuki swift previous gen nicer than current

Mkiv Supra against the Mkv Supra. The latter one looks way too fussy and too many shut lines.
