Insurance Cat C accident details

Hi, does anyone know if it’s possible to find out the details of a previous category C on a vehicle?

The vehicle in question was repaired some years ago but is there any official way to find out details such as the extent and nature of the damage, location etc?
A frontal would be different to some all over panel damage or vandalism damage for example, as would flood damage.

I would’ve thought the MIB could provide this but apparently not. The car has also been through three owners since so contacting or finding out the previous owners details isn’t an option and even if it were they might not even be at the same address now anyway.

Surely there is a record of classified damaged vehicles?

I believe you can only find out the date of loss and the category, unless a previous owner can tell you…

Also worth googling the reg. number as you never know you might find an old listing from a salvage auction.

I'm unsure when they started doing this but I've bought cars that were recorded 2 yrs ago and the auction photos came up
