Not exactly confidence inspiring...

Called a highly reputable mail order tyre company yesterday to check on availability of front tyres for my wifes newly acquired car.
Clearly quite a young gentleman answered the phone and he explained that AM9 tyres are no longer available unless I can find sone old stock and proceeded to advise me of a suitable replacement.
all confidence was lost in everything he said when he then told me that he knew that this tyre was no longer available as he had recently enquired about it on behalf of his parents who had a Vauxhall Zafira with full Aston Martin running gear so it needed AM approved tyres. Still got the diesel engine but been massively tuned by AM so it's now capable of over 180mph.
I know young people tend to tell some tall stories but when you're tasked with advising customers these kind of stories make you question any advice that they may be giving you
