Don’t see how this would cause a fire - does salt water risk a battery fire if a car is parked up?

Fast forward 5m45 secs in

Would have been more worried about my pride and joy being strapped to the top of an ocean cargo vessel with no protection - would turn to rust before not long!

Salt is conductive, so if salt water covers batteries then as the water evaporates it can leave a conductive film bridge across the terminals that can cause them to short, overheat and then catch fire.

I think you'll find that salt is actually not conductive.

ETA though salt water is much more conductive than fresh water.

So sadly only 2/10 for the explanation biggrin
