Taxing car before change of keeper
Discussion
If a car is bought and then taxed using the new keeper slip reference, and then the change of keeper carried out days after, what happens to tax? Presumably it is unaffected by the change of keeper happening as new keeper taxed it beforehand?
Says on gov site that the previous keeper will get a refund, presumably they won't get the refund of the tax done by the new keeper and the car remains taxed?

When I bought my Z4 from the local garage I taxed it using the green slip. After 6 weeks I hadn't received the new V5 so spoke to the guy there and he's forgot to send it off! He then did the ownership change dating it using the VED Tax date so there wouldn't be a screw up.Says on gov site that the previous keeper will get a refund, presumably they won't get the refund of the tax done by the new keeper and the car remains taxed?
I was thinking that the previous keeper would get a refund too, so rang the DVLA to confirm.
