…is a “literary license” by the guys at evo magazine or do the search for the fastest possible lap at the Nordschleife really make some cars to extreme/harsh for the road?

I'm not quite sure what you mean but the only place I could see a GR86 keep up with a M4 CSL or GT4 RS on the Nordschleife is in the queue for the brutzelt wurst at Brünnchen.

In this year’s ecoty they drove those cars in the north of England and apparently the Toyota was just as fast because the BMW and the Porsche were too harsh for the majority of those roads.

I think what he means that a gr86 is as ‘real world’ fast as an m4 because the m4 has been designed to be fast on the ‘ring and not on UK b-roads.

According to evo, yes, that seems to be the case:

I think saying it keeps up as a literal statement would be a bit of a stretch especially if you were committed in the M4 or GT4 RS.

However totally see where the guys are coming from regarding suspension setup as I don’t think BMW have ever got it right and the GT4 would be just too stiff for public roads.

I’d say that is as perfect a test course for the GR86 as you could pick.

Fair play to anyone who managed to get one and actually drives it I’d have loved one. Hope all the scalpers sell them at a loss.
