ULEZ is killing the London car enthusiast scene
Discussion
So many people are selling their cars especially older cars.
The scene is dead. How can the decisions of the gov completely kill a hobby for those in London. Why do those living outside of London have more freedom.
London is a prison for a car enthusiast. The UK is going down the pan, it is becoming more and more controling. The amount of control the gov now have over you would have been unthinkable 10 years ago.
This is from the country that gave us "your home is your castle"
All of this happened under a right wing govt??? This is madness

Unfortunately London is full of lefty nimby, they are happy to give up their rights to private transport (except for the rich) the rest of us will be herded on to buses to be mugged and stabbed
House!I'd have thought living in the capital and being a performance car enthusiast weren't terribly compatible pre-ULEZ?
It won't be long before every city in the UK becomes a low emission zone I suspect, happily as I live just outside one of the smallest (Bangor) I'm expecting to be one of the very last it affects, however I do feel for the thousands having the value wiped out of their vehicles and being forced to sell up (not to mention find a substantial amount extra if they want to replace with a compliant vehicle)

A lot of the cities have it now, saw one recently in Birmingham and when I went on website to ensure my car was compliant it listed all the different places there are such zones in effect. I just hope they don't keep moving the goalposts and upping the standard on which cars need to meet as time goes on.

But in wales you are only allowed to drive everywhere at a maximum of 20mph now, slower than cycling.

There's no right to private transport...ITP said:

The only car drivers frequently driving around 30km/h+ cyclists are the ones doing annual tours of France, Spain and Italy.Forums | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
