Mk1 Skoda Octavia c// not working
Discussion
Hi all. Looking for some help regarding my 2003 Octavia. I used to be a regular on here but gave up working on cars many years ago so thought I’d see if this group is still as good as it used to be.
The issues……
For roughly 2-3 months I’ve had an intermittent issue with the n/s/f door not opening with the rest from key fob. Found that if I pushed the door pin down it would open after a few goes on the fob. How long for was anyones guess. Not a problem I couldn’t live with.
Last week, suddenly, all locks now refuse to open with fob although the headlights flash as normal, interior light comes on but no sound from the c/l. I’ve tried manually opening them all to rule out a sticky mech but no difference.
The boot lock c/l was removed over a year ago and has to be opened by key only but hasn’t made any difference in all that time.
Now, yesterday I go to fill up and the fuel flap release on the dash decides it wants to have a lie in. No sound when pressed and no opening flap. Got over this with a big screwdriver but it’s not the long term answer.
Can’t say I’d noticed this happening at the same time as the locks going down but as the c/l normally does fuel flap too I though it’s possibly linked. But I did think it’d be on a different loop as the button on dash opens it. Or is it just coincidence that it’s happened at the same time?
I’ve got a vag scanner and it’s saying no faults on c/l system.
I’ve ruled out a dead key fob battery as the lights flash when pressed. Or is this an over sight? Immobiliser not kicking in so starting to think it’s a fuse / relay issue based on that the o/s/f under dash normally makes a relay sound when opening the fuel flap but isn’t now.
She’s a diesel L&K 1.9tdi estate if it makes any difference. Old girl has almost 300k on the clocks but pulls like a train even with a caravan in tow. Far too good to scrap before anyone says it 🤣
Any help would be gratefully accepted.
