Heard from various sources that it's a bad idea to park on one of the NEC car parks if a) you want to get off within a reasonable time of your event and b) you don't want your car broken into or nicked so wondering where would be a preferred place to park and get to the place?

Going for Autosport next weekend.

Open air and multi-storey at the NEC railway station. No more expensive than in the concrete fields but a hell of a lot easier to get in and out, plus you'll walk straight into the NEC under cover.

Just as well to park up at the multi-storey for Resorts World. It's no more expensive than the open air ones, shorter walk to the main NEC entrance. And if you happen to shop or eat there after the event, your ticket can be validated and you pay a lesser amount to park. Also easy to leave and be back on the motorway network.

You don't even need to spend any money - just go up to Cineworld in Resorts World and there is a machine on the counter to put your ticket in - £1.50 to park for the day

Just my experience, from visiting many shows and attending many concerts, I’ve never had a problem in any of the car parts with prompt exit and security
