No petrol stations around here (Cheshire) have V-power petrol.

Is this nationwide or local?

Anyone know the cause, and is it likely to be short-term / long-term / permanent?

Have noticed this in and around Macclesfield, been keeping an eye out the last few days as I’m down to 1/4 of a tank, but according to the wife even Tesco had half their pumps out of service, which must be more than just the Momentum pumps.

I have noticed this a lot for over a month now. North of Manchester when I drove to Scotland and around Scotland was terrible. Did the trip 3 times in the last month. V Power out all over the place. Around London has been sporadic. Sometimes fine and some days many are out. Haven’t had a problem using momentum.

This was on Twitter from Shell Stations UK earlier today

"we're aware that some of our stations are experiencing short-term fuel shortages due to an increase in a fuel delivery demand. We anticipate delivery in the next few days. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and apologies for any inconveniences caused."

Not V Power, but our local Tesco is out of 99 Momentum at the moment. Regular E10 only.

We are having the same problem in the southeast, I couldn’t find diesel for the van or 99 for the C63 a couple of weeks ago. There’s a shortage of tanker drivers apparently.

I'd heard a rumour on another forum that Shell have changed the formula for V Power, so maybe a delay in producing and getting supplies of the new fuel to stations?

On twitter they are useless, just copying and pasting a standard reply to everyone that asks.

NE Manchester. I had to visit 6 petrol stations to find premium fuel.

All the shell ones were out. Finally found momentum 99 at £146.9 a litre. Full tank. (Tesco Extra/Middleton)

Have since full tanked again at Costco Oldham at 143.9 but realised that's only 97 Ron

This is what I have heard too.
New formula incoming. I assume branded inline with whatever Ferrari are putting in their F1 tanks this year.

I was told by my local Shell-owned station that Stanlow are having a refit, and production will resume in the 'next few weeks' (this was a couple of weeks ago).

No issues south central. Have read in other groups about issues but seems to be based off what refinery you’re near which would tie in with above.

There is a shortage nationally but not all areas are seeing problems as refineries are prioritising deliveries to those living on the right side of the Pennines.

Struggling here also, though just another Cheshire goer with the same issue many others reported here. Found this on reddit also:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CarTalkUK/comments/109vf7...

Got the A6 Avant mapped to Momentum, so driving it extra easy on regular fuel until this sorts itself out. RS5 cabriolet tucked away in the garage waiting for spring has an MOT due at the end of the month, but that at least has a half tank of momentum to it.

Forgot to mention the chap at Tesco mentioned something about a whatever shortage in the UK regarding momentum, with imports coming on from Hamburg and the situation expecting to be normalised by month end.

God knows if he was talking out of his ass or not. Kinda sounded like it. :/

I can confirm Stanlow or Essar as it is now have been on shutdown, ive been listening to it for a few weeks now...
All the local stations have no V-power, but the local service station on the M56 thats the most expensive certainly does.
Make of that what you want furious

In Macclesfield and my local Shell had V-Power today. Filled up.

No luck with Tesco Momentum yet.

Yeah, I have had issues getting any Super, got half a tank so will just try and preserve the remainder until supply improves.

Wonder if this is how things will pan out as EV's become the norm for those driving ICE engined cars, less fuel stations remaining open, supply being erratic to those that do ?
