Hi all, first post from me. Hope you're all doing ok.

For your normal commute:

Monday - normal commute but you can drive any car you want? Which car and why?

Tuesday - I'm very graciously sending a car to pick you up. Which car and who is driving and why?

Wednesday - I have bribed your local council to close the roads (they're so desperate for cash it only took £2.50), so you now have effectively a rally special stage to get you to work. What are you driving and why?

Thursday - Closed roads but again I'm sending you a driver. Who is it and what are they driving?

Friday - Work from home day! The view from your office window is dominated by a project car that you intend to restore but just can't seem to get around to it. What car is sat there slowly rusting away? (I know that may be the reality for some people!)

Fun topic!

Monday - I suppose it should be something exotic. So me being me, a dodge viper with race exhausts. Good morning everyone!

Tuesday - Have Jeeves pick me up in a Rolls Royce. Because I've never been in one, and I want to experience how it feels to be so filthy stinking rich that I don't care about how I look. I'll be comfy, no doubt, and maybe enjoy a nice nap on my way to work.

Wednesday - forget cars, pass me the keys (fob?) to the Ducati Panigale V4R. I have a stretch of straight A road, then a motorway with two tunnels and finally a sweeping A-road to travel on. I think I can do this in under 20 minutes...

Thursday - Any professional rally driver in their choice of rally car from any era. We can take the small country roads today.

Friday - Will I ever get round to starting that EK9 civic type R restoration? Maybe. But not today, it's cold and raining. Again.

Tuesday- Bentley Mulsanne please

Wednesday- A rip-snorting AC Cobra 427

Thursday- I'll have Walter Rohrl pick me up in A Porsche Carrera GT

Friday- Hmm, maybe a Lotus Elan Sprint? Or perhaps a TVR Cerbera

Great thread idea, I WFH full time now but I'll use my lovely commute of old to say:

Monday - TVR Griffith pre-cat

Tuesday - Rolls Royce Phantom driven by Brian Blessed - supreme comfort and an incredibly entertaining bloke to talk to while you put your feet up.

Wednesday - Lamborghini Murcielago manual - big, shouty, silly car with no regards for the speed limits on closed roads.

Thursday - Sebastien Loeb in a current WRC car, absolutely enormous performance from both car and driver.

Friday - Citroen DS

Great thread OP.

Monday - Got to be something interesting to perk up a mundane morning. I'm going with a 60's or early 70's 911. Hardtop just in case it's raining. RS if you're feeling generous.

Tuesday - I'm very graciously sending a car to pick you up. Which car and who is driving and why? Lexus LS 500h. Might as well be stuck in traffic in something supremely comfortable. The driver can be anyone who drives smoothly and safely and doesn't talk or fart!

Wednesday - Interesting.... When I do go to an office at present, it's 40 miles of good, fast A roads, pretty smooth. But if I pick something too fast, I'm going to only be identifiable by my somewhat ropey dental records. So I'm going with a 106 Rallye. 1.3 please. Though I admit, I was tempted by a Lambo Diablo 6.0. Might get back to you on that one.

Thursday - Closed roads but again I'm sending you a driver. Who is it and what are they driving? Resurrect Colin McRae. Early Group A Legacy. I'll try not to close my eyes the whole way.

Friday - Work from home day! The view from your office window is dominated by a project car that you intend to restore but just can't seem to get around to it. What car is sat there slowly rusting away? (I know that may be the reality for some people!). Today it's an S1 E-type FHC. But in real life, a 60's Fiat 500 appeals more to the wallet.

Welcome, great first post smile

Monday - Aston Martin Vantage V600 (the mid 90s one). Dream car, start the week right.

Tuesday - Jaguar X308 XJR, my dad. There's so much that's happened that I would love to share with my Dad were he still around. 30 minutes in his last car would mean the world to me and would be nice to say goodbye smile

Wednesday - Original AC Cobra 427. I commute down the M1 for a bit, so would be good to relive the Cobra's early days top speed testing that gave us the speed limit hehe

Thursday - Zonda, Lewis Hamilton. Can be his old Zonda 760 LH thing, or a C12S, I'm not fussy hehe. Glorious sounding NA V12, and I think Lewis is an interesting guy. He'd also have to drop me at Red Bull so that'd likely be entertaining in and of itself!

Friday - Alfa Romeo GT Junior (~1968 ish). Just a beautiful car and my ideal classic, would love to restore one.

Monday: My commute is mostly in traffic, on potholed roads, so something comfortable and well sprung, like a Citroen CX.

Tuesday: FAB1 driven by Parker, while I disappoint Lady Penelope in the back (seat).

Wednesday: MG Metro 6R4.

Thursday: Colin McRae in a Group A Ford Sierra Cosworth. Scream if you wan to go faster.

Friday: Iso Grifo

Monday - My normal commute is mostly a motorway trip, so I'll take something big and comfortable please. Something like a S-Class, 7 series or big Lexus should do the trick.

Tuesday - If Jeeves is driving, let's have a big motorhome so I can stay in bed for the commute and only get up and have cooked breakfast on the move just before I arrive at the office.

Wednesday - Assuming I'm allowed to take the back roads rather than the motorway and they are all empty, I'll take an Ariel Atom as long as it isn't raining. If its raining I'll take Focus RS as I'll keep dry and be less likely to end up backwards in a ditch...

Thursday - A group B rally car would be good, don't really mind which one, with one of the drivers from that era too.

Friday - I really must get to work on renovating that Sierra Cosworth which I bought off Ebay for £500 as an MOT failure 20 years ago. They're worth good money now and I'm sure it only needs a bit of welding to get it back on the road......

Nice idea, you can great a great variety of cars from this kind off approach. Weirdly I would only really want to own the Weds & Fri cars. The rest would be too much hassle/cash vs the enjoyment I'd get from them.

Monday - Lexus LFA (everywhere in first gear, listening to that noise!)

Tuesday - Rolls Royce Spectre (all the luxury, completely isolated from the outside world, what's not to like?)

Wednesday - 997 GT3 RS (the most enjoyable car I've ever driven)

Thursday - Original Pagani Zonda driven by Chris Harris (incredible noise, entertaining chat from CH, great way to spend 40 minutes)

Friday - Austin Healey 100-6 in AH Blue

Monday - Model S with air suspension, a mega chill car to drive in london and autopilot for the stop start and motorway stuff

Tuesday - Mia Khalifa, Ford transit custom nugget, work it out tongue out

Wednesday - Audi Sport Quattro S1 for the noise, although Will Hoys monsterioly tuned 6R4 is tempting

Thursday - see tuesday, i hate being driven fast by other drivers, it makes me puke, rather do it myself

Friday - a P400s Miura in blue

Brilliant thread OP.

Monday Bentley Continental T Le Mans

Tuesday Chris Harris in his 2CV

Wednesday This is a difficult one. Timo Makinen's Mk1 Escort Colibri car, but would be torn if a proper Peugeot 306 Maxi were available. That noise!

Thursday Gilles Panizzi in his Catalunya winning Pug 206, as long as he could take in the mini roundabout outside the local nick for a spit of showboating.
See >> https://youtu.be/H3eeQN5z7Rs

Friday DS21 Cabriolet, because it would just have to be finished. Too beautiful to be left.

Hmmm...

Monday: McLaren M8F Can Am car. Doesn't need to be road legal, right? And I can take the scenic route.

Tuesday: Margot Robbie. And she could walk for all I care, but if she has to drive - maybe an F40.

Wednesday: Lancia Stratos. Because it sounds like Pavarotti at full chat.

Thursday: Mark Donohue in his Porsche 917K/30. I'd probably need to ask him to take the scenic route too, in order to deploy all of its 1100bhp.

Friday: Reality: Triumph GT6. Fantasy: the forgotten(!) Ferrari 250GTO that nobody's been able to find for years.

Weekend: Can I have Margot Robbie back?

The problem for me is that the commute is too dull and too short to truly exploit the potential the premise of the thread, which is a brilliant idea for a thread.

Monday - the hypercar I've been dreaming of building for the last decade.

Tuesday - it would have to be the missus. She lives a third of the planet away, so we don't get much time together at the moment... Vehicle is subsequently irrelevant subject to two seats and such like.

Wednesday - one of the 300+ mph hypercars. Once outside of town, my commute consists of a straight for a good ten miles, with five roundabouts. Shouldn't take long.

Thursday - lots of options here, but the shortlist is either the best driver in the world in my own commuting car to see exactly what it is capable of, or the missus again, but this time going very slowly to maximise the time together, wafting through the countryside.

Friday - I'd have to build it first...

Is Margot Robbie good at restoring cars then?
