When you think peoples standard of driving and stupidity couldn’t get worse:

Today north bound on the M1, just north of Northampton, A43 junction.

A Uber food delivery scooter (little thing capable of about 40mph at a push) being driven in lanes 2 and 3 on L plates, no helmet, rider wearing flip flops and shorts.

Bloody carnage as vehicles swerve out the way trying to avoid the tt. One car managed to escape down the hard shoulder as he swerved in to lane 1.

So come on then what more stupid things have you seen.

Cue the PH Massif saying that you should be able to see obstructions, slow traffic. breakdowns etc etc, even on a motorway...

There's a crematorium at the top of the M2 Bluebell Hill. I used to see Funeral corteges with flowers on top of the hearse travelling along at 20mph. I witnessed one inattentive foreign truck driver nearly wipingout hundreds of yards of armco and the cortege and probably needed new underwear.

Been in Romania for the last 6 months and the amount of time you see people pull out to overtake without building up any speed and with traffic approaching the other way is mind boggling. I haven't seen any incidents yet but I have seen the overtakers bail out by pulling onto the verge a few times.

I would have been straight onto the police to report that. It could have ruined someone’s weekend in a significant way.

That is a poor show OP!

One that stands out in my mind was on the M25. Traffic is slowing down due to a car (convertible 3 series) driving slowly, around 20mph with a flat tyre flapping all over the place.

This was in the fourth lane of the motorway, cars were pulling up behind him and flashing, beeping but this guy refused to pull over to the left. Utter utter moron.

I remember in early 2000s driving in Romania on main roads at dusk having to be careful of horse and carts with ni lights .... Was scary

India. A new dual carriage way had been constructed through swathes of countryside. The locals had a complete disregard for their safety and equally our driver drove like there were no risks at normal UK motorway speeds. So a herd of goats were being corralled down the outside lane and many locals on motor bikes/ other vehicle driving on the wrong side made for a somewhat unnerving white knuckle ride over a 100 miles....

Our driver said it was more challenging at night......

The donkey in front of me today in Northwood , in a new model Mercedes B, with no number plates, a MASSIVE dent in the rear quarter, rear bumper loose with sharp edges, driving at 15 mph weaving around dangerously close to parked cars while seemingly talking on the phone.

Thought it might have been nicked but in fact it was just some old bag. Get off the road!

I had just got my licence, it was a lovely warm day so I was nice and cool in my shorts and flip flops, the wind was dancing through my hair and I was having the time of my life.

I was travelling North on the M1, just past Northampton, by the A43 junction, keeping myself to myself and travelling at my own pace. My blissful journey was interrupted when I noticed cars all around me, swerving all over the place and making a right fuss and shouting all sorts of unpleasantries at me. Had I been wearing my helmet I probably wouldn't have been able to tell what they were saying. At one point, as I was carefully and responsibly making my way into lane 1, I even saw a car go flying down the hard shoulder!

What a day that was.

Stupidest? Thats easy.

Many years ago, had to drive home from Cambridge to Northants along the A14. Snow was forecast and it started to come down pretty heavy. Took my time, drove carefully and there were a bunch of other cars and trucks doing the same thing. Just stuck to the tracks that were cut through the falling snow and was fine. Slow but predictable progress was made.

Surprised to see a Nissan 200ZX go past me and all of the other cars in the outside lane. He was doing around 20-30 MPH more than everyone else. Has he drove past, I just muttered to myself that "he's going to crash sooner rather than later". And yes, 10 miles down the road, we all slowed down as we passed the same car nicely crashed into a bridge support. You could clearly see the tire tracks where he lost it and then span.

Totally predictable, totally expected and utterly stupid. And in that car? Yikes, not so much a case of running out of talent, but surprised that he didnt crash sooner!

Stupidest for me? Thats easy too. Also involves snow.

Was traveling for work and took the bike to the airport (free parking). Was away for a few days and a snow storm rolled in. Got to back to Heathrow and snow was coming down heavily. Packed the bike up and jumped on, wasnt too bad until I got out to Berks and the open sections of the M4. Cold, nasty and the only choice I had was to ride in the tracks cut by the trucks. At a lot of the ride home, we were going around 25 MPH. Took hours.

Thanks to the truckers who gave me space and allowed me to follow cautiously (one signaled to me to go behind), I made it home. Totally stupid and in reality I should have just checked into a hotel for the night and waited to see in the morning. Could have parked the bike up and rented a car to get home. Muppet. Never again. Totally get how that Nissan ended up in a bridge support!

Lesson learned - sometimes that "got to get home" mentality can get you in a lot of trouble.

Some guy casually crossing the M27 between Jn12 and Jn11 on foot, at rush hour! I called the police as I was passing him and by the time I'd gotten to Jn11 there was a police car on blues and twos hurtling down the sliproad towards Jn12! I'm of course assuming, but if that was to get to my reported sighting it was only about 2 minutes from my call to seeing the police car!

TDF it can be really difficult to get from L3 (or L4) to the hardshoulder if you have loads of people zooming up your inside. The beeping and flashing just increases the stress levels and diverts attention away from carefully traversing the carriageway.

I did, they were aware and about a minute or so later I saw a cop car go steaming past me southbound towards the A43 junction I assume to get on the northbound lane.
