Where is ULEZ 'good' though ?
It's to improve air quality where it's bad in city areas. It's expanding into areas where there is no problem with air quality.
Just carry on pushing electric vehicles.

I’m going to round really stupid here but was had ULEZ got to do with the cost of living crisis?

Because if you don’t have a compliant car you have to pay to use your existing one.

Or replace your old paid for car with a newer compliant one you may not have the funds for, hence borrowing money that accrues interest.

Still if it helps keep the serfs in their place, on the bus, the Zil lanes will be clear for those who are more equal...

ULEZ, similar to the congestion charge unfairly impacts people living in poorer city areas who are more likely to own older vehicles & therefore have to pay more to drive their car.

Tricky issue to tackle though. What is the alternative?

Just had a thought - if you drive into inner London in an older vehicle - do you have to pay congestion charge AND ULEZ fees ?

From what I can see, London has a huge bus and underground train network so I would think it would be cheaper in the long run to use that rather than own, tax, repair an old vehicle?

I understand that not all circumstances will allow that but for many of those living in the heart of London surely would make more sense.

The Congestion zone only applies at limited times. from TfL:

Charging times
Congestion Charge (CC):

07:00-18:00 Mon-Fri
12:00-18:00 Sat-Sun and bank holidays.
No charge between Christmas Day and New Year's Day bank holiday (inclusive)
ULEZ: Operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, except Christmas Day (25 December)
LEZ: Operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year

So they'll allow people with bad emission vehicles to visit family / friends on Christmas Day for free. Bless!

Why on earth would you want to force the removal of a petition? We live in a democracy and everyone has the right to express an opinion and have their voice heard. Would you prefer it if people didn't have that right?

I can only assume you are a troll shilling for signatures so even though I don't live in London I've signed it. If not then I've exercised the democratic right that you want to remove from me.

I was expecting this to be a petition to have a referendum on the ULEZ expansion.

Not whether The Mayor and the whole shebang should be got rid of. hehe

Maybe, but the expansion is no longer about those living in the heart of London.
