How many roadworthy cars do you have?
Discussion
How many cars do you have on the road? I’m up to 6 now, all have their own purpose but think it’s getting a bit ridiculous. Only real issue is tax, so try and sorn a couple occasionally, but always cave in and tax them in case I need it during the month. I have:
Boring modern daily estate for work
Wife’s mini
Old manual Passat I’ve had for 15 years. Useful for local stuff and can’t bare to sell it.
Same as above but auto as my wife can’t drive manual
Modern weekend car
Classic

Four currently.
2004 Audi TT VR6 Roadster
2017 BMW 440i Convertible
2018 Volkswagen Passat GTE Advance Estate
2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance
The TT, I always wanted one, so made sure I got a nice one 5 or so years ago.
The 440i is a great family day out car with the roof off.
The Passat is the family wagon, round town/school run is essentially free because the car is charged from the solar most of the time, and it’s perfect for domestic holidaying with the kids.
The Tesla is used for commuting, again charging for a pittance.
I do think about condensing down to two cars, something like a Volvo V90 Twin Engine and a Maserati GranCabrio, but it won’t really give me anything different to what I have (other than a larger estate and a better sounding convertible), but I’d lose the TT and the Tesla.

22, all but one is MOT'd, only 8 are taxed during winter
How do you manage 22 MOT schedules? Have you synced them all together so they take up an MOT station's bookings for a few days in the year or something?
Sounds like a bit of a job to keep on top of servicing, MOT, insurance, recalls and the like (though I'd imagine insurance is something along the lines of a business policy, so one covering everything?)
4 modern cars with large engines, one classic, 2 bikes, camper. All are ‘legal’.
2 are free to tax. All rest are taxed through summer, one is taxed in winter.
Without doing that, annual VED bill would be £2000, the same as the annual insurance bill.
I wouldn’t mind so much if the roads weren’t so full of potholes.

4 cars
Model Y bought 2 months ago - to be new family + long work trips car
Hyundai Ioniq Plug in Hybrid - runabout and winter distance work car when I can't be bothered finding public charging.
Saab 9-3X TTID Wagon. The shed on the fleet, something really nice about it, but the ever growing London Ulez means it's going soon.
Ford Capri - used to be my daily in the 90s and still have it. Now a pampered garage queen.
Now if you were to ask how many roadworthy bicycles I have, I'd have to go and think about that for a few mins.

1) how many cars do you own?
2) how many of them are roadworthy?
3) how many are actually taxed?
i'm not a tinkerer/collector of rusty s
theaps, so i have 2 cars, both roadworthy, both taxed.

Mostly on classic polices these days, though some are still on my trade policy
