All the rates go up with inflation, just as they have done every year.

You can see that Band C will go up from £30 to £35, the top Band M from £630 to £695, and those in between similarly. These are ~10% rises rounded to the nearest £5.
The exceptions are Band A (110% of £0 is still £0) and B (110% of £20 is £22, which is still £20 to the nearest fiver).
For cars registered from 1st April 2017 onwards you pay a (now £355) supplement in years 2-6, sounds like the lucky Lexus owner above has paid his last supplement, so back to standard flat rate (now £165) from now on going into year 7. If you want to own a 5.0L V8 (and why wouldn't you?) then buying a 2017 model is the most road-tax-efficient option

It does seem to be all over the place. I had a pleasant surprise when I took my 2017 5 litre V8 Lexus RCF off SORN this month. Instead of the usual £600 it has come down to £165 for the year. I guess I won't be putting it on SORN from here onwards.

VED prices like this will hammer the depreciation of cars like this as well I'd imagine. Plus the VED cost will be more than the value of the car I reckon in a few years too.

That said, the LS460 was the same VED cost.At least you have 8 cylinders and 4 litres though Ross.
I only get 6 cylinders and 3.7 litres in comparison!

No problem...

I've been mentioning the massive VED prices for post 2006 Bands L ad M cars for years, only to be told it doesn't really matter. Really? It does when they get old, unsaleable unless they're special. Even my TVR (pre 2001) is now £325 per year.
