We've already had Puma, Cougar [Kuga] and Mustang SUV's.

Anyone want to place odds on the next name to get the SUV treatment?

When I first heard about the Capri name coming back yesterday I immediately though - oh no its going to be some horrible SUV based thing - and now it is! Very sad.

Puma from 90's - light, low, sporty, and precise coupe that was good on fuel and fantastic FUN to drive. Good use of the Fiesta platform.

Puma from 2020's - bloated poorly packaged 5 door with high COG that has no more room in the back than the soon to be discontinued Fiesta from which its grown (massively in terms of weight and height).

Old Capri - everything from a 1300cc slug to a V6 150 bhp sporty low slung coupe that could easily seat 4 adults. Mostly rubbish to drive but at the time most things were, basic, cheaply made but somehow these were aspirational and the quick models were very successful in their class in saloon car racing all round the world.

New Capri - heavy, high, poorly packaged with not much space in the back considering its weight and height (TBC of course).

Cars are getting so large and bloated and over weight, what a total waste of hybring tech if all the new cars weight 50% more than they could have been designed and most people seem to aspire to some daft over sized lump close to 2.5t. Oh yeah lets save the planet by building ludicrously heavy over proportioned Electric cars with poor efficiency due to weight and height/size.

That thing looks like a bag of dicks.

At this it just feels like they’re picking on us.

I predict a 1970s Top Shelf magazine name, as in the past.

They could win this one. They could really lead the way.

Imagine if it was 2 door. 500bhp. Rwd. Didnt’t look st. I could almost forgive it being electric in that configuration.

Putting aside the name thing, I don't think that's a bad looking car.
