How long till private plate feeds into the system?
Discussion
Just assigned a private number plate to my car online.
I received the email confirming I can attach my new plates to the car.
I have also changed the details with the insurance company.
When, I check online for a MOT check or insurance check, the system does not recognise my new plate. Instead the old plate is still showing the details. I thought changing a number plate online is instant nowadays especially as I have the email telling me I can use the new plate.
Has something gone wrong at the DVLA or does it take a few days for the new plate to feed into the system?

It depends on what you're looking the reg up against. DVLA (Tax check, MOT history) should be pretty much instant - day or two max to reflect, but insurers, parts suppliers etc. it can be the luck of the draw when it comes to their data provider.
As an example - I put my private plate on my car 2 yrs ago, checked a local tyre supplier last weekend and it still shows as the previous car it was assigned to!
As long as the DVLA and askmid show the correct reg/car combination (I believe insurers get 5 or 7 days to update the MID however), you should be fine.
