Anyone registered a car recently? How long did it take?

As per title. I bought a new (to me) car about 4 weeks ago. Paperwork all completed with the seller who assured me he was going to send it off. The car was on a SORN at the time so I've taxed it using the Green slip, therefore DVLA are aware I'm the new keeper.

I'm still waiting for the new V5 to turn up and beginning to wonder whether the former owner has sent the paperwork. Yes, I know we should have done it online so there's no need to to point out our my failings!! And yes, I can speak to him to make sure he posted the old logbook off.

Am I expecting a bit too much from the DVLA given the rumours that many of the staff are WFH.

So , what have other people experienced lately?
