I'm not sure where to post this specifically;

My son has been offered a car by his employer as part of his package. It'll be leased. But should he insure it himself, or should the employer insure it? The employer says that if they insure it anyone will be able to drive it and they don't want that.

I've leased cars and just insured them myself. I've never thought about GAP insurance or anything like that, should he?

I'm sorry it's all abit vague, he's quite young, and the employer doesn't have any other company car drivers so it's new to everyone. BIK is understood, thast's not a problem.

Employers paying for the lease?
Employer insures it.

Just because anyone can drive it doesn't mean your son has to let them.

He can insure it personally, but needs to find an insurer who will allow an employee to insure a car leased by his employer for his sole use.

There are wins here, as it means that the NCB will be personal to him. I assume the employer is paying for the insurance.

I used to be insured in this way, and LV in particular was not at all concerned.

Yes the idea is that it is cost neutral for him but gets a nice car and a small pay rise
